A Strong Debut for “The Minnesota Equity Blueprint”

The Minnesota Equity Blueprint rolled out amid considerable fanfare last week, earning statewide media coverage and winning praise from the dozens of participants in six communities along the Mississippi River that were part of the presentation.

The Blueprint is 170-page guidebook with more than 140 recommendations for creating a more inclusive and equitable economy and a more sustainable natural environment for Minnesota.  Over the last two years, Growth & Justice partnered with OneMN.org, more than 300 participants, and dozens of community organizations and non-profits in the Thriving by Design Network to develop the blueprint.

The videoconference linked Greater Minnesota and Twin Cities metropolitan area participants who were gathered in Winona, North Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Brainerd, Grand Rapids and Bemidji.  Echoing comments offered by many others, one participant summed up the experience, “Amazing for: a) the process; b) the synthesis; c) the presentation; and more so that this is an evolving plan with a moving 10-year window!”

The full Blueprint, an executive summary of the recommendations and a list of priorities for the 2020 Legislature are available on the Growth & Justice website.
