The 2019 Legislative Session in Minnesota has come to an end. Growth & Justice played a role at the State Capitol as a monitor and supporter of our partners’ advocacy, when necessary, stepping in to provide testimony and/or send out action alerts through communications. For example, we testified in support of the tax bill, specifically urging expansion of Working Family Credit and MFIP. We also attended hearings and kept up pressure on social media related to coalition efforts such as 100PercentMN, Driver’s Licenses for All, Restore the Vote, Increase Teachers of Color Act, and preserving the health care provider tax. Our partnership initiative with OneMN.org – Thriving by Design – sent out continuous updates throughout session, and you can view the 2019 Session Recap and outline of work ahead HERE.
